If the document was originally issued electronically, upload it in the booking form. We will print the document for Authentication. If the document was originally issued in hard-copy, we will send a complimentary express post label for delivery of the original document to Swift Authentication from anywhere in Australia, or postage instructions if sending from overseas or the issuer.

We offer complimentary next day delivery of the Apostilled document in Perth or anywhere in Australia. We can also arrange international delivery via DHL Express Worldwide for an additional cost. You can select your preferred option for delivery in the booking form.

What is DFAT Authentication in Australia?

DFAT Authentication is a specific type of certification issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) certifying the authenticity of the document's signature, seal, or stamp and the authority of the person or organisation that issued it for countries that are not members of the Apostille Convention. DFAT can Authenticate either an original Australian government issued document with an official signature or seal or a document that has been notarised by an Australian Notary Public.

Who can issue an Authentication certificate in Australia?

DFAT is the only body in Australia that can issue a DFAT Authentication certificate. DFAT issues Authentication certificates through the passport office in each capital city.

Which countries is DFAT Authentication valid for?

DFAT Authentication is recognised in countries that are not members of the Apostille Convention. Refer to our List of Countries Accepting an Apostille.

What if the intended destination country is a signatory to the Apostille Convention?

If the intended destination country is a signatory to the Apostille Convention, then you may need to have your document "Apostilled" by DFAT.
